Type: | Junction Field Effect Transistor |
Also known as: | JFET |
Description: | This form of a transistor is the simplest model of a field effect transistor. It can be used as an electronically-controlled switch or as a voltage-controlled resistance. It’s made of three basic parts; the beginning connector called a source, where an electric current comes from, a second connector called a drain, and a third connector called a gate, which regulates the current flow. The gate used is of a p-n junction. |
